Caves of Palinuro

Medieval village of Pisciotta

The main settlement of Pisciotta, about 100 km south of the capital Salerno, developed around the top of a low and steep hill overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, on whose sides the streams Fiori and San Macario run. The mouths of the two watercourses delimit the tiny hamlet of Marina di Pisciotta, on the coast below, downstream. Further inland, the Rodio fraction rises, which the legend says originated from a settlement of Knights of Rhodes.
